Lockheed Martin Replaces 2 Substation Transformers
Lockheed Martin was in need of direct replacements for their two aging substation transformers at their Moorestown, NJ facility. They called Sikkema and Hitachi ABB in to get exact measurements of the existing transformers, matching the connection points on the high and low voltage sides exactly for a plug and play replacement. Hitachi ABB designed both units to Industry Standards and DOE 2016 and was able to work up a custom design to fit the footprint of the existing transformers so they would match up with the existing gear on site with no modifications. The project was completed in 2021 and both transformers are up and running without a hitch in the operations.
