Cactus, TX Dairy Digester to Renewable Natural Gas Facility
When our customer had no more indoor space to install his electrical equipment, we provided an E-House building solution and factory mounted the customer’s switchboard, MCC and control system for this dairy digester making renewable natural gas.
Septa Substation CB and Transformer Replacements
When Septa wanted to replace their old substation equipment, Sikkema supplied a new concept magnetically actuated live tank outdoor circuit breakers for their 12 & 24kv 25hz traction power system, as well as new autotransformers. Sikkema has sold over 70 of these CB’s and 16 autotransformers for Septa as they replace all of their old AC traction power substations.
Spring Creek Towers Power Plant- 5kv Outdoor Switchgear Line Up
Here is 5kv metal clad switchgear in an E-house building for a power plant at Spring Creek Towers, a large public housing project in Brooklyn, NY. The Switchgear line up was over 25 breakers including generator CB’s for the onsite turbines, and diesel generators, that required paralleling with the utility service.
Trenton Biogas Food Waste Recycling Plant
Sikkema was involved from the engineering concept time thru completion for this food waste to energy digester plant in Trenton, NJ. We supplied the utility service entrance 15kv switchgear and transformers.
Wind Energy Tower Switches
Sikkema has provided over 800 wind energy tower switches to Gamesa and their contractors. They are installed throughout the US at sites such as Minonk, IL, Sandy Ridge and Allegheny, Pa, producing clean energy for the grid. The switches are 35kv with very small footprint using SF6 insulation to fit through the doorway of a wind turbine tower for mounting at the base per these pictures.
Solar Power in Central New Jersey
Sikkema has done numerous solar projects. Supplying to many customers a variety of solutions such as: 35kv metal clad switchgear for PSE&G and JCP&L services, reclosers, MV distribution switches, solar step up transformers and outdoor switchboards with relays to act as the intertie main. They can also provide battery storage systems to use the stored power whenever needed.
Amtrak Scada Upgrade
When Amtrak was looking for a new upgrade to their Scada, Sikkema supplied them with a new upgrade of ABB Network manager that integrated their power system and train controls into one scalable windows open architecture system.
University Area WWTP Battery Energy Storage System
Sikkema worked with an EPC to to supply a battery energy storage system fed from their 2.61MW photovoltaic (solar) system. It includes the power conversion system, lithium-ion batteries, and sophisticated automation that ensures power reliability, availability, and grid stability. Sikkema Electric also supplied the switchgear and transformers for the system. The project is expected to be completed by Spring 2021.
TekPark Data Center 69kV Circuit Breaker Upgrade
Sikkema provided two 69kV Hitachi ABB Circuit Breakers from Mount Pleasant, PA to Allentown, PA for TierPoint's Allentown facility. TekPark has a dual 69kV feed that powers the Data Center. Both breakers needed to be replaced in succession in order to maintain the feed and not lose power. Hitachi ABB provided the start-up and commissioning for each breaker in a tight crunch to keep power on and the facility running.
Lockheed Martin Replaces 2 Substation Transformers
Lockheed Martin was in need of direct replacements for their two aging substation transformers at their Moorestown, NJ facility. They called Sikkema and Hitachi ABB in to get exact measurements of the existing transformers, matching the connection points on the high and low voltage sides exactly for a plug and play replacement.
New Jersey Transit Receives EV Chargers for EV Bus Project
Sikkema Electric provided the ABB HVC-150C EV Chargers for the first EV Bus Project for New Jersey Transit (NJT) at their Newton Ave Bus Garage in Camden, NJ. There were a total of 8 charging cabinets with the ability to charge up to 10 electric buses for NJT.
